Valletta - The capital of Malta

Valletta is the capital city of Malta - a very nice city, very well fortified and preserved. Everywhere you can see fortifications, huge constructions! The main road is full of shops and also always full of people, except at night when most of the shops are closed. As soon as the shops have closed the city is empty.
There are also many museums. In the front of the big gate of Valletta there is a huge round about (housing a big fountain in honor of Triton) which serves as the main bus terminus. All buses in Malta drive to here.
The capital is on a peninsula and surrounded by water from three sides. If you stand in Valletta there is almost no spot from where you can’t see the sea. The city is constructed in rectangular blocks. The construction time amounted to 10 years and the reason was to build a greater stronghold against the Ottoman Empire. The city was named after the Grandmaster and founder Jean de La Vallette.

Armier Bay
Armier Bays location is very far in the north - it is the northernmost beach in Malta. Despite that it is very well visited in the summer. The water is crystal blue and the beach sand is white and fine. There are several kiosks and restaurant/cafes around the beach. Opposite to the beach one can see the small island of Comino and the sister island Gozo.
