Electricity/Sockets in Malta

Electricity/Sockets in Malta

In Malta the sockets used are 3-pin, British standard. On the first gaze it might look quite confusing for people who are not used to it, but it isn’t. The on/off switch is on the upper right side. Obviously if you switch it off there is no electricity on the socket and vice-versa. In this case it is switched on. The socket has three holes.

University of Malta (UOM)

The university in Malta accommodates around 7500 students. It is the only university on the Maltese Islands. Citizens of the European Union are not required to pay any tuition fees - at least for the moment.

Worth seeing in Gozo

Gozo has something to offer which Malta does not have. For example on one hand the Azure Window, a naturally formed arch on the coast. On the other hand the capital Victoria with the small romantic lanes and the large bastions, from which one has an excellent view of the whole of Gozo and parts of Malta and Comino. Then there is the beautiful beach, the Ramla Bay, and the historical temples of Ggantija. In addition the flair of the island and the inhabitants is a completely different one than in Malta.

Prices, insurance and minimum age to hire a car in Malta

Prices vary according to model class, between €14 (the cheapest price as far as our research shows) and €49 for a car like a Peugeot 206, Kia or Fiat. Of course in Malta cars like Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, or larger cars like a Van or Minibus are also available. The longer you hire the care, the cheaper the price will be. Students are often granted discounts.
