Electricity/Sockets in Malta

In Malta the sockets used are 3-pin, British standard. On the first gaze it might look quite confusing for people who are not used to it, but it isn’t. The on/off switch is on the upper right side. Obviously if you switch it off there is no electricity on the socket and vice-versa. In this case it is switched on. The socket has three holes.

Sliema
Sliema offers some swimming possibilities. The majority of the coast consists of rocks; however there are also small areas with sand. It is not an excellent beach; however it serves its purpose. Many tourists come for a short sun bath here.
Valletta
Valletta, probably the best spot with the most shops and malls to go shopping. The main street (Republic Street) is full of shops, especially jewelers. You must visit this street. The main road is full of people between 8am to 12am and again from 4pm till 7 pm. The so called Siesta takes place from 12am till 4pm.
Ferry to and from Malta
One can reach Gozo easily from Malta with the ferry. There are two operating routes from Malta to Gozo. The first and most commonly used is from Cirkewwa (Malta) to Mgarr (Gozo) and the second is from Sa Maison (near Valletta/Malta) to Mgarr (Gozo). Both routes are operated by the enterprise: Gozo Channel Ltd. The routes operate once per hour and the crossing lasts only 20 - 30 minutes.
