Apartments in Malta

In Malta there are numerous real estate agents. There are so many that they are located only a few meters apart from each other. Especially in St. Julians and Sliema one can find dozens of agents near the coastline street. The business in real estate is booming in Malta and the prices are steadily increasing. Many hotels have been transformed into nice apartments, because that market is more profitable.

Apartments in Malta

The rent for an apartment isn’t very high - even though the business is booming. The price depends on the location, age, interior, size, etc. as everywhere in the world basically. The apartments are usually furnished. Electricity and water has to be paid separately, it’s never included in the renting price.

Costs for the mediation

The mediation of a flat by a real estate agent will cost you the rental fee worth of a half months rent of the apartment.

Save money

You can save money if you are trying to find a flat without a real estate agent. There are two ways to do this. Either you go through the streets looking out for signs saying ’to let’ or you buy some newspapers and search through the classifieds. However, both ways cost time and require patience. A real estate agent will pick you up wherever you are, show you the flat and take you back home.

Sights in Mdina and Rabat

The whole city of Mdina is worth seeing. The city consists of many small alleys, a huge city wall with three gates, a very nice cathedral (from inside as well as outside), an observation platform (from there you have a nice view over the northern part of Malta), and much, much more. Rabat whereas is a modern city. There are also some nice sights, as the St. Paul’s Church and Grotto, the Museum of Roman Antiquities and the St. Paul’s Catacombs. While Rabat is a bit more vital, Mdina offers more culture and history. Have fun looking through the pages.

San Gwann

San Gwann is a calm residential area. It lies central on the east-coast of Malta and is sourounded by Swieqi in the north, St. Julians, Sliema and Gzira in the east and Msida and Birkirkara in the south. Westwards are fields and Naxxar. The main road of Malta passes directly at San Gwann. What to see in San Gwann? In San Gwann is nothing exceptional to see. It‘s just a calm residential area.

Life and Work in Malta

Whoever wants to come to Malta to live and work here should first try to get a work permit. Malta is a member-state of the European Union, however the island is very small and to protect the citizens and the economy special conditions were introduced. Except of this it’s nothing special. There are numerous real estate agents. The commission fees are quite low (the price of half month’s rental fee).
