Beaches
In Malta there are some very beautiful beaches. Though some are not as beautiful as promised. The island of Malta is very rocky; one-half of the island does not offer many beaches. The best bays are in the north: Golden Bay, Armier Bay, Paradise Bay, Mellieha Bay. We would be pleased if you give us your personal opinions about the individual beaches.

Electricity/Sockets in Malta
In Malta the sockets used are 3-pin, British standard. On the first gaze it might look quite confusing for people who are not used to it, but it isn’t. The on/off switch is on the upper right side. Obviously if you switch it off there is no electricity on the socket and vice-versa. In this case it is switched on. The socket has three holes.
Winter in Malta
Malta is often described as a nice summer-country with sunshine, beaches and blue sky. However there is another side of Malta - the winter. For the first time you will feel winter coming in December and you have to endure it till February/March. January is the darkest and possibly coldest month in the year/winter. This month has the rainiest days, the least sunshine-hours and the lowest temperatures.
How is winter in Malta?
There is no frost or snow but mostly strong rain showers and winds. That’s not even so bad, but there are some other factors which make this worse.Great Siege 1565 Malta
Karl V., Spanish king and the Kaiser of Germany gave the island of Malta as fiefdom to the Knights Hospitalizes (Knights of St. John) in 1530 with the purpose to use their powers against the godless enemies. The Turks defeated the fleet of Venice which was the biggest at that time in the Mediterranean Sea in 1538. The only galleys that could still endanger the Turks were that of the Knights of St. John. A conflict was inescapable.
