Paradise Bay

Paradise Bay

The sandy beach at the Paradise Bay is unbelievably beautifully, however somewhat small. The rocky and untouched landscape offers pictorial scenery.

Gozo lies opposite of the beach, the view of which however is somewhat obstructed by the Gozo Channel ferry terminal. Directly on the beach there is a Snack-bar and a small restaurant. Prices are somewhat expensive.

Reaching the bay is not very easy, especially without a car. The only bus route passing in vicinity leads to the Gozo Channel ferry terminal, and from there one must go on foot the remaining way (1-2Km).

There is no bus route leading directly to the Paradise the Bay, however one can stop in the bus stop before the last (The bus then stops at the Cirkewwa terminus)

A boat trip around the whole island of Malta and Comino

A boat trip around the island of Malta and Comino can be booked in any travel agency. You can’t possibly miss a travel agency, because they have an eye-catching facade. There are especially many in Sliema near the coastline as well as in Paceville.

Sights in Vittoriosa (Birgu)

There is so much to see in Vittoriosa - the whole city is an open-air museum. The city is surrounded by an incredible flair of history, culture and modernity. The structure of the city equals that of a triangle. On the side facing to the inland there is a big city-wall with two gates. The most interesting way to enter the city is through the Couvre Porte. The side directed to the harbor entrance is also fortified. On the fortification, high above the sea, there is a nice promenade. From there you have a nice view on Valletta, the harbor gate and Kalkara. On the tip of the city is the Fort St. Angelo. The fort is stunning. The last side of the triangle, the side facing the Dockyard Creek/Senglea, has no fortification. There you can find the Casino de Venezia, Maritime Museum, St. Lawrence Church and a luxury hotel. In the city itself something is awaiting you around every corner. In the centre lies the Victory-Square - the square got his name after the Great Siege 1565 of the Turkish. It is said that the Grandmaster La Vallette was wounded during the siege on a fight at the fortification ’Poste de Castille’. The Turkish were already inside the city when the Grandmaster counterattacked them together with his personal body-guards.

Birzebbugia - sothern city in Malta

Birzebbuga lies deep in the south on the great bay of Marsaxlokk(Pretty Bay). The city is very nice and has a certain charm. Unfortunately, this charm is shadowed by the cranes of the Malta Freeport, the air traffic and the oil tanks/pipelines of EneMalta nowadays. The bay has a nice promenade which follows the whole coastline in Birzebbuga.
